DALE:
We originally found him through a newspaper ad. We orignally had one dog, named Chip, who did not do well being left alone. So, to maintain some peace and quiet in the condo (and with the neighbors) we decided to get a friend for Chip. Dale is a full-blooded ShihTzu. He was born on July 4, 2003, adopted on August 6, 2005 and passed away on July 9, 2020, just days after his 17th birthday. |

HARLEY:
We found him through sheer dumb luck. He is also a Shih Tzu. We loved his harlequin-like markings and so the name. After such a good experience with two dogs, we just had to hvae a companion for Dale (and ourselves) after the loss of Chip. The family that we adopted him from had rescured Harley from a puppy mill where he was mis-treated and so he is rather skittish. We intend to love the fear out of him. Harley was born on March 29, 2005 and we adopted him on July 23, 2006. He died on June 8, 2019 at 14 years of age. |

RYDER:
We found him at the Anti-Cruelty Society. The paperwork said he was a 2 year old Shih Tzu - Poodle mix (though we always thought he was probably Schnauzer - Poodle). They had also said he did not bark (he did) and that he was house-broken (mostly, he was). He really did a lot to bring Harley out of his shell. The three of them used to play all the time. We only had a birth year - 2005. He was adopted by us on Dec. 10, 2007 and left this world on Sept. 17, 2024 - 19 years old. |

MONKEE:
-We found her at a pet store in Merrillville, IN. She is a mixed bree Chinese Crested and Lhaso Apso. Her face was really monkey-like and so her name. She was born on Feb. 2, 2011 and we adopted her on April 3, 2011. Jef kept waiting for her to lose her teeth (as the breed tends to do) and her toungue would then hang out. She was a holy terror and became the alpha of the pack. She passed away too early - June 4, 2022 at 11 years of age. |
